At Elanora State High School, we believe students thrive when they are encouraged to pursue their passions, develop their strengths and challenge themselves to achieve their goals.
For Year 12 student Riley, that passion for paddling has taken them to the international stage, proudly representing Australia at the 2026 ICF Junior and U23 Canoe Sprint World Championships held in Halifax, Canada, from 1–5 July.
Competing against the world's best young paddlers, Riley represented Australia in the K1 200m and K2 500m events, showcasing the dedication, resilience and commitment required to compete at the highest level.
Riley's achievement reflects years of hard work and determination, and demonstrates what is possible when students are supported to pursue excellence both in their education and their chosen pathways.
Through Elanora's Paddling Academy, students have access to opportunities that develop their skills, confidence and resilience, while learning the importance of teamwork, perseverance and goal setting.
The Academy provides students with the opportunity to explore their passion for paddling while continuing to grow as confident and capable young people.
Riley's success is a wonderful example of the heights students can reach when they are supported to discover their strengths and pursue their ambitions.
Congratulations, Riley. The entire Elanora State High School community is incredibly proud of your achievements and the way you have represented both Australia and our school.
