Access Arrangements and Reasonable Adjustments Documents
  • AARA Fact Sheet (PDF, 360KB)
    Under the new senior assessment system, Special Provisions are now called Access Arrangements and Reasonable Adjustments (AARA). The QCAA recognises that some students have a disability, impairment and/or medical condition/s, or experience other circumstances that may be a barrier to their performance in assessment. AARA are designed to assist these students through minimising barriers for eligible students to demonstrate their learning, knowledge and skill in assessment.

Policies
  • QCAA Assessment Policy NEW QCE (PDF, 289KB)
    This policy provides information for teachers, students and parents/carers about roles, responsibilities, processes and procedures to ensure the integrity of assessment that contributes to the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE). The framework for the policy is developed from the QCE and QCIA policy and procedures handbook and applies to Applied, Applied (Essential), General, General (Extension) subjects, and Short Courses in the senior school and across all faculties and all year levels.
  • Attendance Policy
    Every day and every lesson counts. This document covers school and parental obligations regarding attendance as well as absences and lateness.
  • Appearance Policy
    Elanora State High School has a complete dress and sport uniform in accordance with the decision made by the parent community (Parents and Citizenship Association). A gender-neutral school uniform helps in achieving the school’s identity, cohesion, tone, pride and spirit. Students at Elanora State High School are permitted to choose the formal uniform in which they feel most comfortable.

    This explains what is expected from students regarding bus travel to and from school.
  • Student Code of Conduct
    Elanora State High School is committed to providing a safe, respectful and disciplined learning environment for all students, staff, parents and visitors.
  • Communication and Technologies Acceptable Use Policy (PDF, 127KB)
    It is expected students will use ICTs and all forms of electronic equipment (including all personal electronic devices (networked AND non-networked) which students bring to school) appropriately. Computers and other resources are provided for use in teaching and learning only. When logging on to a school device students acknowledge DETE terms and conditions, that is, ‘When using the network and facilities you must act lawfully and in line with the rules that apply to you. For students – the code of School Behaviour and the rules of your school.’ All the expectations are detailed in this policy.

    During the course of your student’s school years, you may have cause to make a complaint about an issue with their education. Education Queensland is committed to ensuring that all complaints are dealt with in a fair and equitable manner. This document outlines the process.

    This policy is to guide students to safely navigate and behave responsibility in the cyber world.

    This explains what is expected from students regarding completion of homework at Elanora State High School. It also explains the process if an extension is requested.

  • Resorative Justice Programs (PDF, 127KB)
    Mediation is one of the restorative practices in use at Elanora SHS. All of the restorative practices use as the philosophical base that the individual has to own his or her behaviour and therefore take responsibility for it and need to repair the harm caused to the relationship by his/her actions. Other restorative practices include: restorative justice mediations, restorative circles, restorative thinking classroom, return-to-school from suspension agreements.

    We realise the need to protect the skin of students and staff and to provide education about sun smart behaviour, thus reducing the risk of sun damage from exposure to the sun.
