Health Pathways Centre
Elanora offers the opportunity to study on campus a Certificate II in Health Support Services. With our ageing population and statistics showing that Australia's healthcare industry is having a strong-growth sector with more than 50,000 jobs expected to open in the next five years, we recognised that obtaining the facilities to have our own Health Hub was a learning experience that we needed to pursue. Consequently, we have installed a Health Hub at the school to provide this wonderful opportunity, another learning experience that is balanced and holistic, moving outside the normal classroom to complement academic achievement and moving into the 21st century.
This qualification gives you the foundation skills necessary to work in an assistant role in a health, aged or residential care setting, or to undertake further study in the field. This course equips you to work with people from diverse backgrounds, recognised healthy body systems, respond to behaviours of concern, and transport patients. Our highly experienced industry professionals guide you every step of the way to ensure your transition into the health sector is a success.
Successful completion of this course qualifies you to work in an assistance role in a health care facility as a ward assistant, orderly, food services assistant or laundry services worker. It also gives you the foundation skills you need to undertake further study in the industry. This qualification allows students to then articulate into a Certificate III Traineeship at a local health care facility.
