Sports Selections for Term 4

8/08/2016

Your student, in the next week, will need to choose a recreational activity to participate on Wednesday afternoons during Term 4.  This recreational program is part of the school curriculum for all students in years 7, 8, 9 and 10 and will run for the first eight weeks, 5/10/16 to 23/11/16.

The aim of the Recreation Program is to enable students to participate in low, moderate or high levels of physical activity over this time. The program on offer provides for this varying level of activity. Any student unable to participate in this program due to extenuating circumstances needs to seek approval, via a letter or interview, from the respective year level Deputy Principal.

The cost per activity is for the whole eight week program. The primary cost is associated with bus hire with additional charges for venue and facilities fees. Due to the nature of the Recreational program, the outlined costs, (see attached) must be paid in full by 16 August 2016.  Failure to meet this deadline may affect your student’s participation in the activity, due to the first to pay policy.

What does your student need to do:

  • Submit Selection Form with payment at On Target Interviews, 16th August.

Or

  • Submit form to Student services with payment using one of the payment options.

The following programs will also run in conjunction with the Junior Recreation program:

  • Year 12: Social etiquette, dance and life skills program.
  • Year 11:
    • Option 1: QCS (Qld Core Skills) training (compulsory for all “OP Eligible” students and students requiring a ranking)
    • Option 2: Tutorial Classes (Work on assessment and competencies)
    • Option 3: Recreation Sport Options (options available to years 8, 9 & 10)
