Message from the Principal - 15th May 2012
Today on our Full School Assembly I announced my retirement from Elanora State High School at the end of this Semester. A new Principal will be appointed to the school for the beginning of Semester 2 2012.
I have had three great years at Elanora State High School and am very proud of the progress we have made during that time. Our Academy program which includes the Junior Academy is well poised to implement the Junior Secondary program for 2013. The Senior Academies of Business and Industry, Science and Engineering, Culture and the Arts and Sport, Health and Fitness continue to develop to ensure more students have a personalised career pathway and are well supported along the way to achieve in their chosen field.
Our Partnerships with local primary schools, universities, training organisation, industry and business are strong and we are gaining market share in our local area.
Our school prides itself in being a safe, friendly, welcoming and disciplined environment where teachers can teach and students can learn. This has been achieved by our school community working together to set high expectations around learning, behaviour and achievement.
I began teaching in 1971 and feel that it is the right time for me and the right time for this great school. I am very comfortable with my decision and am looking forward to spending time with my husband travelling, golfing, entertaining and relaxing.
I feel very fortunate to have spent the last three years of my career at Elanora State High School.
Fran Jones, Principal
